How Does it Work?
Your SolarSynthesis 7 comes with a smart control electronics module that regulates the battery. This unit will prevent the battery from overcharge from the solar panel, as well as over-discharge from excessive use. Once the electronics detect a low battery, 10.5-Volts, power will be cut off from the USB Outlet until the supply return voltage of 12-Volts is reached. If the Blue LED light is no longer illuminated on the USB socket, your battery will need to recharge. This can take a couple of days depending on the sunlight and time of year.
Does it Come Ready to Use?
Yes, with a small amount of work on your part. Since the device has a constant power draw, AGIC Energy does not ship the product with the battery engaged. Upon unpacking your unit, you will see an operating manual that demonstrates the quick an easy step to connect your battery and solar panel to begin using.
How Long Does the Battery Last?
With the electronics module regulating the battery, the life should be extended to 5-8 years if used properly. A lead-acid battery, if completely discharged, can shorten its life. We recommend you disconnect the battery and solar panel during extended periods of non-use during the winter months. If you forget to do this and your battery does not charge in the spring, you can always purchase a replacement battery.
